League of Greeks from Egypt and the Middle East

EEAMA was established on December 17, 1950, in Melbourne, Australia, under its original name:"League of Greeks from Egypt and the Middle East."
EEAMA is a Greek social and cultural club founded by migrants of Greek origin who had lived inEgypt and, to a lesser extent, other parts of the Middle East. Most of its members are Greek nationals who resided in Egypt’s urban centers—particularly Alexandria, the country’s main seaport and a vibrant hub of multicultural life.
The majority of EEAMA members, or their ancestors, migrated from Greece and Cyprus to Egypt, where they became part of the large Greek diaspora communities that thrived in the region during the 19th and early 20th centuries.
In 1967, EEAMA purchased its first premises on Whiteman Street, South Melbourne. Later, in 2006, the association moved to its current home at 1C Bell Street, Preston, where it continues to host cultural events, community gatherings, and services that honour the rich history and heritage of Greeks from Egypt and the Middle East.

At EEAMA, our mission is to foster a vibrant community where everyone feels welcome. We aim to create opportunities for social interaction and personal growth through various activities and events.
